Quicken Cloud Sync Not Working? 6 Fixes That Actually Work (2026)
If the Quicken mobile app won't refresh, transactions are missing, or you're seeing duplicates, the cloud dataset is out of sync with your desktop file. Here's how to fix it.
Why Cloud Sync Breaks
- Desktop and mobile app versions drift out of alignment
- The cloud dataset has stale or duplicate records
- A Quicken ID signed into two files can crosslink cloud data
- Network / firewall blocks quicken.com during sync
Sign out of Quicken on desktop and mobile
On the desktop app open Edit → Preferences → Quicken ID & Cloud accounts → Sign out. On the mobile app, tap the profile icon → Sign Out. This forces a fresh sync handshake.
Update Quicken to the current release
Go to Help → Check for Updates on desktop and update the mobile app in the App Store / Play Store. Cloud sync often breaks after a mismatch between desktop and mobile versions.
Reset the Quicken Cloud dataset
Open Edit → Preferences → Mobile & Web → Reset your cloud data. This clears the cloud copy of your file so the next sync pushes a clean snapshot.
Re-enable Mobile Sync on the accounts you want
Go to Mobile & Web tab → Get Started (or Edit sync). Uncheck all accounts, click Sync now, then re-check them one at a time and sync between each.
Sign back in on mobile
Open the mobile app, sign in with the same Quicken ID as desktop, and let the initial download complete over Wi-Fi — sync can take 5–10 minutes on a large file.
Validate and Super Validate the file
Back on desktop, File → Validate & Repair → Validate File. If sync still fails, hold Ctrl+Shift and click File → Validate & Repair → Super Validate. Fix any red-line errors before re-syncing.
Still Not Syncing?
A technician can log in with you, reset the cloud dataset cleanly, and rebuild the mobile connection without losing history.
