How to Fix Quicken Error CC-502 (Bank Server Unavailable)

Quicken Error CC-502 appears when your bank's server can't respond to Quicken during One Step Update — usually a temporary bank-side condition.

Why CC-502 Happens

  • Bank server is under maintenance or temporarily overloaded
  • Your Quicken release is behind the current profile
  • Connection timed out mid-download
  • Corrupted online-services connection on the account
1

Wait 15 Minutes and Retry

CC-502 is often a transient bank-side timeout. Close Quicken, wait 15 minutes, reopen, and retry One Step Update. Roughly half of CC-502 reports clear on their own.

2

Update Quicken to the Latest Release

Go to Help → Check for Updates. An outdated release can carry an old institution profile that the server rejects.

3

Refresh the Financial Institution List

Open Tools → Financial Institution List → Update List. Then reopen the account and retry the update.

4

Deactivate and Reactivate Online Services

For the affected account, open Edit → Online Services → Deactivate. Restart Quicken, then re-add the online connection via Set Up Now and choose Link to existing.

5

Try Web Connect as a Bridge

If the server stays down, log in to your bank, download a QFX/Web Connect file, and import it into Quicken. This keeps your register current while CC-502 clears.

Still Seeing CC-502?

If CC-502 won't clear after 24 hours, a technician can profile the connection and confirm whether it's a Quicken-side or bank-side issue.
