How to Fix Quicken Error CC-585 (Account Not Found at Bank)
CC-585 means Quicken asked for an account the bank no longer recognises — typically after a closed account, a renumbering, or a bank merger changed the account identifier.
Why CC-585 Happens
- Account was closed, replaced, or renumbered at the bank
- Bank merger or platform migration changed account IDs
- Quicken register is linked to the wrong bank account
- Damaged account records inside the data file
- Aggregator returned an incomplete account list
Verify the account still exists at your bank
Sign in to your bank in a browser and confirm the account is open and visible. CC-585 frequently follows a closed, renumbered, or merged account after a bank acquisition.
Reset the account in Quicken
Tools → Account List → Edit → Online Services → Reset Account. This asks the aggregator for a fresh account list and re-matches your Quicken register to the bank's current account ID.
Check for a mismatched account link
During reconnect, Quicken sometimes links the wrong register. In Set Up Now, review each downloaded account in the Action column and make sure it points at the right existing Quicken account — never 'Add' if the register already exists.
Back up, then deactivate and reconnect
File → Backup, then Edit → Online Services → Deactivate on every account at that bank. Restart Quicken and add the bank again using Link to existing account.
Validate the data file
If the error follows the account after a clean reconnect, run File → File Operations → Validate & Repair with 'Validate file' ticked to clear damaged account records.
Avoid Duplicate Transactions While Relinking
Always back up before deactivating, and when reconnecting choose Link to existing account rather than Add to Quicken. Adding creates a second register and duplicates every downloaded transaction — the most common self-inflicted problem after a CC-585 fix.
