How to Fix Quicken Error CC-800 (Data File Warning)
Quicken Error CC-800 appears during One Step Update and points to a data-file inconsistency Quicken can't reconcile with the download.
What Causes CC-800?
- Data file was moved, renamed, or restored from an old backup
- Duplicate account or corrupted register entries
- Interrupted download left inconsistent transactions
- Data file needs validation or a super-validate
Back Up Your Data File First
Before any repair, go to File → Backup and Restore → Back up Quicken File. Save the backup somewhere outside your normal Quicken folder.
Validate the File
Go to File → Validate and Repair File → Validate File. Quicken will scan the register and log any issues to a text file. Restart Quicken and retry One Step Update.
Run Super Validate
If regular Validate didn't clear CC-800, hold Ctrl+Shift and click File → Validate and Repair File. Choose Super Validate. This deeper pass fixes issues Validate can miss.
Deactivate and Reactivate Online Services
For the affected account, open Edit → Online Services → Deactivate, then re-add the online connection through Set Up Now.
Copy File and Try Again
Go to File → Copy or Backup File → Create a copy or template. Working from the copy sometimes resolves CC-800 when the original file has a low-level index issue.
Data File Still Throwing CC-800?
Deep data-file repair should never be attempted without a full backup. Our technicians can validate, super-validate, and rebuild indexes safely — with your data protected.
